Things to do in the Morro Bay area


           There’s much to do in Morro Bay.
            I’ve stood on the sand, watched surfers, then walked north along the
water’s edge for miles. I’ve walked the strip of land to Morro Rock with folks playing in the sand to my right, and with varied wild life in the water and water’s edge to my left, and I’ve seen the Peregrine Falcon drop from the top of the great rock like a stone to strike its prey.
            One time, I mistakenly found myself in the heron rookery and the huge birds surrounded me and flapped and screamed at me to protect their recently hatched newborns
            Once I was in a small boat in the bay and an otter nudged the bow, then performed whirls for me in a one man show. Often I walked past the fishing boats and felt a kinship with one named “Amanda B”, my daughter’s name.        
             Above all, Morro Bay is a place to be.
